My interview with Austin Brake and Rebecca Beeson Lagler took place at the Nebraska Fire Fighting School at Grand Island, Nebraska in June.
Interview with Austin Brake and Rebecca Beeson Lagler Part 1 and part 2 Interview with Austin brake and Rebecca Beeson Lagler Part 2 Rebecca and Austin are both medics working with Lifeteam Critical Care Transport, and they both save lives every single day they go to work. Rebecca is a State Registered Nurse working on board a fixed wing aircraft, while Austin works on board a helicopter as a Paramedic. Their work involves taking critically ill people from accidents, hospitals or even from their homes to take them to hospitals where they can receive the medical help they urgently need. In Rebecca’s words, they “Get to see the best people on the worst days of their lives!” Their work also includes taking transplant patients to receive their replacement organs. In my interview with Rebecca and Austin, live at the Nebraska Fire Training School, we talk about what it means to be saving lives every day you go to the “Office.” But the difference is that their office is an airfield where critical emergencies, requiring urgent transport, are happening every day and involve each of them and their entire team flying out across Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and taking the critically sick or injured to get the medical help they need.
